I had the privilege of going to a kitchen tea today at a beautiful restaurant. The weather was perfect, and even though it went on for 5 hours, we had a blast! It was what we in America would call a bridal shower, and boy, do they do things differently here. When the bride opens a gift, she has to guess what it is. If she doesn't get it right, then the person who brought the gift gets to do something to her. Normally, these teas take place at a home, but because Danielle had it at a restaurant, she didn't get as messy as some brides-to-be get. She was covered in lipstick and eye-liner, had rollers put in her hair, covered in flour, ice down her back, and raw egg placed down her shirt and then shattered. Now normally, they would go out to a public place and beg for money. But Danielle had other plans right after, and wasn't able to make that one...shame. :)
