Obedience

Joshua 22:1-6
I was reminded this morning as I was doing my bible study, of the actions Joshua asked the Transjordan tribes (Reubenites, Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh) to carry out.

-Love the Lord your God
-Walk in His ways
-Keep His commandments
-Hold fast to Him
-Serve Him with all your heart and soul

These guys were obedient in every aspect through their 7 year service in the Lord's army.

Obedience:
"compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another's authority."

Obedience comes from a relationship with Him. It's not that we obey to earn His love, we obey to express our love to Him. I don't always get this right, that is for sure. Just last week I disobeyed the speed limit and got a ticket. (oops)  I want to desire obedience in every aspect of my life. I will fail miserably, because I'm a sinner. But I want these 5 actions to rule my heart as I go about daily life. Lord, help me to be obedient, and make me fully aware of the times I am not. How about you? The road back
